If he makes a promise to you, sure as hell, he's gonna be keeping it. When becoming past the southern boy's simple acquaintance, he'll more than likely try to indulge himself with hanging out with you; and even become strangely persistent about it, not that he realizes. It can almost be annoying. But, annoying the hell out of his friends is the best way possible he shows his affections. Being old fashioned about it, he never will ever take any of his friends for granted, and will do his best to be there and please them. You can be sure that if you're having a bad night, he'll be the one sneak out of his dorm past regular hours to show up at 12AM to make sure you're okay. That's just who he is.

And because his past sex life, and his instability to withstand a proper relationship, nothing he starts ever. Ever lasts long. He later has an intimate discovery with Ikki Otsuka. Never before finding a connection like he had made with Ikki, they balance each other out. Especially personality-wise. Together they find a "True Name" and a strategical, powerful Unit. Although, despite this, indulging in flirtation and teasing is fine. There is no doubt that West will respond pleasantly.
